Have you been having trouble sleeping?

Friday evening I picked up my daughter from a play date and as I was driving off noticed the full beautiful cheese moon staring back at me. My week wasn't so beautiful however, in fact it was a pretty darn rough, tiring, energy draining week. Not that I had any particular deep strong reason... so I blamed the moon.

I asked around and many were feeling the same, crappy and moody. Business was oddly very slow, slower than usual at this time of year.  And when you think of the tax dates approaching and not much income coming in, as a business owner, you start loosing sleep over it, or have lousy sleep.

Tossing and turning, your mind worrying and everything seems overwhelming. We are all driving faster to meet our monthly goals, sometimes I feel I am working too hard for too little. And not getting enough sleep to reboot. And we all need a good reboot!

All of last week, the week of November 25, 2012, was a challenging one for me personally, and professionally.

A cup of warm milk should help!!

But I turned to coffee instead, that drug of choice to keep me wired through out the day so I can take care of business. Working as freelance graphic artist, getting work has been tough, but thankfully I have a few jobs and deadlines to meet which keeps me busy.

Maybe going to bed early?

One night I went to bed at 9 pm, but still woke up in the morning as though I had only slept for 2 hours.

Yoga and meditation will do the trick!

...well if you can keep yourself awake for long enough.

In the end I recognized I had a problem - Insomia. So did my husband, so did many of my friends. The energy that week was strange, I do have psychic tendencies and I strongly believe there was a shift, and this week we will all be better off.

But what exactly is Insomia, and how can we help ourselves?

So I turn to bach flower resources to learn more about it. I also recommend Bach Flower products on my blog because I have used their products and have physically felt the benefits.
What Causes Insomnia?
Insomnia (in-SOM-ne-ah) is a common condition in which you have trouble falling or staying asleep. This condition can range from mild to severe, depending on how often it occurs and for how long.

Insomnia can be chronic (ongoing) or acute (short-term). Chronic insomnia means having symptoms at least 3 nights a week for more than a month. Acute insomnia lasts for less time.

Some people who have insomnia may have trouble falling asleep. Other people may fall asleep easily but wake up too soon. Others may have trouble with both falling asleep and staying asleep.

As a result, insomnia may cause you to get too little sleep or have poor-quality sleep. You may not feel refreshed when you wake up.
